STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE for Chapter Leaders (SLCCL)

We hope that you are all having a great summer and enjoying your vacation. The Minnesota State Officer Team is looking forward to your son/daughter's attendance at SLCCL, in Hackensack.

The Minnesota State Officer Team has prepared many activities designed to encourage personal development in your son/daughter. During the week, they will have the opportunity to meet and make many new friends and develop their potential for career success through workshops and group activities. They will also develop leadership skills and teamwork through examples and interaction with fellow FFA members. Some of the other topics discussed are goal setting, ideas for chapter and regional enhancement, and techniques for good public relations. Etiquette is taught by example and expected to be practiced throughout the camp. Official dress (O.D.) and the proper casual official dress (C.O.D.) is explained and encouraged. In addition, flag ceremonies, which take place in the morning and evening of every day, will encourage patriotism and respect for our country's flag. The campers are encouraged to signup and participate in the flag ceremonies. They are also urged to volunteer for a camp officer position that win allow them the chance to perform the duties of their respective officer position.

Attending SGLC and SLCCL is not all work and no play. The recreational directors win have activities planned such as volleyball, trail walking, archery, swimming and canoeing. The week is concluded with a banquet presented by elected camp members. The highlight of the week is the dance following the banquet.

As you can see, attending SLCCL would not only be an enjoyable experience for your children but would allow them the opportunities to enhance their leadership abilities. We anticipate seeing your son or daughter's personal leadership growth through their attendance at the State Leadership Conference for Chapter Leaders!
